The Woodturning Cruise will start in Stavanger and sail to the North Cape and return, a spectacular sea voyage with some of the most beautiful scenery in the world!
During the passage we will visit many of the main cities in Norway and also some very cosy fishing villages with loads of history and attractions to see and visit. When we dock you can choose to either explore the city or surrounding areas yourself, or participate on one of the many organized trips.  In most of the places you will have plenty of time to explore and get to know the area a little bit.  We will stay in the harbour for quite a few hours so the local town's customers of WWW VERKTOY AS can come onboard and visit the woodworking show!
Breakfast onboard the 2004 cruise. All meals are served onboard and we start with a delicious breakfast, around mid-day a very good lunchtable with lots of Norwegians specialities, both hot and cold. In the afternoon/evening its dinner time!
We can assure you that the food on MS GANN is famous and we are convinced that you will enjoy it.
During the passage we will arrange demonstrations and tuition for the passengers. The demonstrators will give lechtures talk about their work and techniques. The schedule and events will be announced onboard.
The passengers are also invited to use the demonstration lathes during passage. Due to popular demand we will arrange it so you sign up for x hours on a lathe.  We are also aiming to set up the DVR lang bakfra"TEKNATOOL LOUNGE" - a set of 3 Teknatool XP lathes, complete with Supernova2 chucks and other tools which passengers are free to use! If you want instruction from one of the demonstrators you must make an appointment for this. (More on this issue onboard).

Wayne Barton

WOODCARVING
For those interested in woodcarving we are proud to present Jostein Tvedt, an excellent Norwegian woodcarver. He is one of our demonstrators and we plan to run a couple of classes onboard for the passengers with small, simple projects. He's been running courses for over 20 years! We've got five large sets of Pfeil woodcarving toos - ready for use, free of charge.

Are you into chip carving?
We are proud that Wayne Barton will join the cruise as a demonstrator and instructor! Wayne is famous for his books on chip carving, courses and tools. You might even be able to attend his lessons in chip carving. For these lessons there will be a small additional fee, paid onboard.

On the last cruises people have started small whittling groups, knitting classes and other recreational crafts! Some of the passengers also got together and did turning as a group, exchanging knowledge on different subjects. If you have any particular skill in woodturning/carving etc you are more than welcome to show it!

Let us know and we can arrange an evening demo!

Knife making.
We will arrange a knife making course onboard and you can make your own beatiful knife, with handle and leather pouch. You must buy the blade (handmade from a  wellknown blade maker), and there will be a small fee to cover the cost of other materials. But you will end up with a very nice handmade knife! Knife making is an old tradition in Norway and you will certainly enjoy this craft!
